a friend of mine who watches this stuff a lot claims they go faster than the wind. is he right? hows that work?

It should be, but the problem is likely venue and conditions ... it's probably not too often you get a nicely smooth and safely frozen over lake with great winds ... still, people would definitely watch this!

The Summer Olympics this year had 302 events. The Winter Olympics has fewer than 100. Both Summer and Winter Olympiads last for 16 days. So why not add this to the Winter Games? There's plenty of room, and it's a cool sport that I think people would watch. I would. They could even have different classes. One-Person Boat Two-Person Boat Five-Person Boat Or something like that. Maybe 10K and 50K races.

ofc they capsize :) quite alot ^^ :p i do the sport with wheels on a beach xD really cool sport but when it's to cold it can be a true hell :p today i was on the beach landyachting at 90km/h true watter, my hands felt frozen and my toes where purple :p ow well, yes they capsize alot ;)
