Keeps it together for the sake of her children while her heart is exploding, gazing at her maritial bed. For all of us who have been there - great song and acting and superb writing!

This song is quite ironic. I loved Joni Mitchell from the 70's and 80's. When I listen I can hear it's an older Joni, and she's still doing Both Sides Now and very beautifully I might add. So it's like she did this song from both sides both as a young gal and an older woman. When I think of it...it means I've gotten older too and I'm wondering where the years went. Man this song puts a lump in my throat.
