I found another way to kill him, you just need the M37 (12 gauge shotgun found in the cave where you fight the pain) and just get behind him all the time and you'll beat him in about 30 seconds.

easy just use a chaff grande his electric will not affect you then thats how i did it but make sure you have enough of them:D

Nicely done. Does this work in Snake Eater when you battle him in game as well? (Permitting you have all the weapons?)
