Steve Martin - King Tut (Live 1979)

Steve Martin performing his song "King Tut" on stage at the Universal Amphitheatre, on September 28th, 1979... Enjoy! I'm not too sure what Henry Winkler (That's right, The Fonz himself) was doing there, considering that's all we see of him during the entire show, but it makes for an awesome cameo...

this out of print video does give a glimpse of what it was like at the height of his stand up, it also may answer questions about on the WILD AND CRAZY GUY record why the audience spends all that time cheering. i saw this video in stores for many years and such, and I finally got to see this. Too bad it is NOT on dvd. It is awesome!!! (I swear he did the same routines...) His last album "...brothers" is not up to par, and I understand.

back at his peak, i was too young to understand. I was fascinated by 'king tut'/steve martin, but my parents wouldnt let me listen to his records...in 6th grade, I finally heard the full album. I am a fan, but I understand why Steve quit. I swear-in all these previews-he does the same routines again & again...and a lot of people dont understand his comedy [to this day]... too much space taking up to explaine, but this VHS is out of print for years...

Yup, Born Standing Up is an incredibly insightful book, I got it for Xmas!

He is fantastic, and I HIGHLY recommend his book "Born Standing Up". A touching, fascinating guy who, despite all, I still think underestimates his own talents, including in music; see also: watch?v=aXggF8k16YA
